Sleep Apnea
Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) or the Vivos DNA
Sleep apnea is a common disorder that causes your breathing to stop or become very shallow during sleep. Breathing may stop for 10 seconds or longer. People are forced to wake up for a few seconds to regain normal breathing and most are unaware that they have woken up. The most common type is OSA, obstructive sleep apnea. It causes your airway to collapse or become blocked during sleep. Normal breathing starts again with a loud snore or choking sound.
Depending on your needs, the Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) or the Vivos DNA appliance might be right for you. Both are widely used for sleep apnea and look much like a mouth guard used in sports. These are two great options that do not require a CPAP machine.
MAD Appliance
MAD appliances move lower Jaw forward to open airway. It is a temporary solution as long as a patient wears the device to sleep. It keeps tongue out of the airway because it attached to the lower jaw.
You have nothing to lose but a good night's sleep!
Unlike a CPAC machine, this is a permanent solution and is quiet and unobtrusive.
We design a biomimetic medical device, much like a retainer, which you wear between 12 and 24 months, primarily in the evening and at night while you sleep.
Upon completion of treatment, most patients do not require further intervention.
Most patients feel the effects of treatment within the first few days or weeks. During treatment, periodic adjustments are made to your appliance.
Vivos, by Always Beautiful Smile and Paramus Dental Arts, is an appliance that helps you to breathe through your nose. The upper jawbone is the floor of the nose and sinuses, and by expanding it we relieve nasal congestion.

- This is a permanent solution

- Maintaining ideal body weight
- Sleep position change
- No alcohol or sleeping pills before sleep
- Receiving treatment for nasal congestion or allergy
- Surgery or oral appliance
- CPAP Machine
CPAP was the only treatment for sleep apnea. But today a new and permanent solution is available. It is called Vivos.
You have nothing to lose but a good night's sleep!
What is The Vivos System?
- An advanced therapeutic protocol to treat mild-to-moderate obstructive sleep apnea, snoring and sleep disordered breathing in adults.
- An all-natural, non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical, and pain free approach
Wearing an oral appliance is incredibly easy. It fits snugly and securely. You simply slip it into place when going to sleep. It holds your lower jaw in the forward position and prevents your tongue from falling backward, keeping your airway clear. Most receive all of the benefit they need by wearing an oral appliance.
