Hi, my name is Dr. Olga Degtyareva. I actually work with my mother; she was the first one who got on board with Vivos. You know, recently I've had a couple of patients start coming in specifically for Vivos treatments, telling us that they've found Vivos online and want this. "I'm very interested in Vivos, I've done all my research, please I know I'm a candidate, help me get started."
What is the most common complaint?
The most common complaint definitely is snoring. "My husband is snoring, keeps me up all night, I can't sleep, I can't deal with him anymore, please, you know, help me sleep with him in the same bed." Getting up frequently in the middle of the night is another one too that people mention. It's like, "I get up three or four times and then I can't fall back asleep, and then I wake up tired and groggy, and I'm groggy all day," and you shouldn't be. You should wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day.
How has Vivos changed your approach to dentistry?
Vivos has completely changed my approach to dentistry. I started looking past teeth; like, I look at a patient as they're walking into the waiting area and walking past me. I start looking at them, and I look at their profile, and I look at, where's the chin, where's the nose, where are the ears, where are the eyes, are there bags under the eyes. I start looking at all these things before I even walk into the room, and then I already have an idea of the conversation that I'm getting ready to have with this patient even before, you know, I even really examine them. And then I look in the mouth, I'm like, hmm, you have x, y, z, and cross bites, and you know, you've had ortho done three times that keeps relapsing and we don't know why. Well, I know why and I can help you, you know. And we can, I can fix the individual teeth, but then, that's all well and good, but this is a much bigger picture, and I started looking at the bigger picture, which they don't teach you that in school.
How has Vivos helped your patients?
Vivos has helped my patients significantly. Even those that have just been in treatment for a couple of months have already said, "I sleep so much better, I feel like I can breathe through my nose again. All of a sudden my nose is breathing, I can smell things, I haven't been able to smell things in years, and all of a sudden I smell food and flowers."
What advice do you have for those considering Vivos?
Do it, get into Vivos, don't hesitate. You know, it's a process, and you have to kind of learn and get used to it and train staff because you absolutely cannot do it alone. But man, I want to make people's lives better, and the more people we can help, let's do it, let's do it all together. Hop on board, I'm down, I'll help you if I can.
